Aentee @ Read at Midnight is hosting #TheReadingQuest, which runs from August 13th to September 10th. This reading challenge is based on video-game quests. You pick a character and level them up by completing the squares on the given path. I invite you to join me and the rest of us who have signed up to take part in the quest.
This is the game board:

The purple squares are the different character paths; the specific paths are indicated by the dotted lines. The blue squares are side quests, which I hope to do a few of during the challenge. Completing these challenges earns extra points and bonus experience toward for your character. I don’t think I need a TBR list for the side quests, so I will not include one here.
I will be keeping track of points too, so those points will be experience points (XP) and health points (HP). For the record, I will be starting with 10 XP and 10 HP.
The more extensive rules can be found in the link to #TheReadingQuest above.
My Chosen Class
The class I choose is the Bard.
BARD: While the bards may not engage in direct combat, they make up for it with their intimate knowledge of songs and stories. They will travel through the Fifth Down path on the quest board, reading famed tales and singing lost songs.
My TBR for the Bard Path
A book that has a TV/movie adaptation: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
A fairy tale retelling: Snow by Tracy Lynn
A book cover with striking typography: The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
A book translated from another language: Nisemonogatari 01 by Nisio Isin
A banned book: It by Stephen King
NOTE: These books are subject to change as the challenge and my reading interests progress.
If I am lucky, I hope to try to work on a second character too.
