Book Traveling Thursdays is a weekly meme hosted by Danielle at Danielle’s Book Blog and Catia at The Girl Who Read Too Much. Based on the theme of the week, you pick one book and post the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover. If you would like to participate or find out more, check out the Goodreads page!
Since most people like to snack while reading, this week’s theme is a book that focuses on food, eating, or cooking. I chose a book from my TBR list, and I hope to read it before the end of the year. The book I chose is Kathryn Littlewood’s Bliss. While their parents are on vacation, Rosemary Bliss and her siblings are supposed to keep the Cookery Booke, the family book of enchanted recipes. Like many of these stories go, they pull it out and try to make some of the baked goods from the book.
Yet another original, American book. It perfectly showcases the advertised magic and baked goods.
Most of the other covers I have seen give the outside view of a bakery with a bit magic showing somewhere. I like that the UK cover takes a different approach, using a cupcake and graphics that indicate magic.
Least Favorite Cover
This is the Finnish cover. It might be showing a villain here, but I prefer the whimsy of the other covers.
If you have read Bliss, what do you think of it? Do you recommend any food-, eating-, or cooking-focused books? Let me know in the comments.
